What’s Jiu-Jitsu like for a total beginner?
It’s fun, challenging, and empowering. We walk you through every step, and most people are nervous at first — you won’t be alone.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
Nope! You don’t need to be fit or flexible. Our classes are beginner-friendly, with scaled movements and a safe, supportive pace.
Do I need to have done martial arts before?
Nope. In fact, most of our members started with zero experience.
What should I expect in the first class?
Expect a warm welcome, an intro to basic terminology, and to leave feeling excited, not overwhelmed.
What should I wear to my first class?
Just wear comfortable workout clothes — shorts, leggings, or joggers and a t-shirt or rashguard. We train No-Gi, so no special uniform is needed.
Can I try it first?
Yes — your first class is completely free. Just wear comfortable workout clothes and sign up online.
